Dr. Trefts completed his Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Missouri at St. Louis. Afterwards, Dr. Trefts became an Optometric Fellow of binocular and pediatric vision by completing a two year residency at the University of Missouri at St. Louis. Dr. Trefts comes to southeast Georgia from Norfolk, Virginia where he was practiced with Dr. Joel Zaba. They were renowned for work in pediatric and binocular disorders. Dr. Trefts diagnoses and treats several ophthalmic conditions, but has a special interest in both pediatric and geriatric vision. Dr. Trefts previously worked at Vision Source Family Eye care in Brunswick, Jesup, and St. Mary's, Georgia. He lives with his wife, Lori Trefts, MD. who is a Neurologist at Southeast Georgia Health Systems in Brunswick, Georgia. They have two children. Dr. Trefts enjoys spending time with his family, playing soccer and volunteering with the local soccer club, SSA. Dr. Trefts attends and volunteers at St. Simons Community Church.
